Hi, I’m Maura Belli.
I’m an Italian translator and virtual assistant, both by training, and because helping other businesses tap into the potential of the Italian market is what I’m passionate about.
I was born and raised in the province of Milan, the Italian capital of fashion and design, as well as high-end catering, both of which are now a big part of my work.
Languages have always been at the centre of my personal and professional life. With a bilingual Italo-Croatian father, who switched naturally from one language to another, it’s no wonder I decided I wanted to be a translator at primary school, and never changed my mind.
But these days, I’m more than a translator. I spend my days helping small and medium-sized businesses and freelancers communicate with their Italian customers, as well as their Swiss Italian ones, and manage the logistics of selling to them.
I’m adaptable and empathetic, and I’m here to make your life easier in all kinds of ways.
My journey
Degree in Foreign Languages and Literature
I obtained a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature at IULM University in Milan, specialising in German, and adding Spanish as my third language of study.
My thesis? A translation, of course! I translated one of the novels of a well-known contemporary German writer, Friedrich Christian Delius 'Der Sonntag, an dem ich Weltmeister wurde'.
First work experience
After graduation, I worked in private companies, from the fashion sector to lighting and automation. I was in charge of managing the German, English and Spanish-speaking markets throughout the customer management process, from managing documents and liaising with customers to organising trade fairs and translating content, providing holistic linguistic support to my clients.
Master's Degree in Sectorial Translation
After 20 years of experience, I resumed my studies, and in 2020 I obtained a Master's Degree in Sectorial Translation for the Web-Technical-Tourism Sectors at the Scuola Superiore di Interpreters and Translators in Pescara.
Knowledge of my specialist subjects
In 2022 I began offering freelance and flexible translation and virtual assistance services to my clients. And since then, I’ve been taking specialist courses to build my knowledge of my specialist subjects and skills even further.

And I continue to expand my knowledge every single day, offering my clients broad Italian business support, and taking a load off their minds.
